Guesthouse Box is located in Box, Sipoo, in a peaceful countryside area. It is only half an hour’s drive from the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, 30 km from Helsinki and 20 km from Porvoo. The accommodations are located in two separate buildings, the main house and the rose house.
Accommodations
We accommodate individual travellers, families, people on a weekend getaway, business travellers, project workers and conference guests.
The main house’s double rooms have been individually decorated and the toilets and showers are located in the corridor next to them. The main house also has a “kitchen corner” (microwave, fridge, coffeemaker and electric kettle) and a living room with a fireplace and a TV.
The rose house includes a small 4-person apartment with one bedroom (four separate beds), toilet and shower, a kitchen corner, a dining and living room, a TV and a balcony. Downstairs in the rose house there is Handelsmans Café, where breakfast and pre-ordered meals are served.
Accommodation prices include breakfast.

SUSTAINABILITY
Our Green Route to Better Future
- Waste disposal = waste sorting-composting (ever since 1980’s) = all our bio waste is being heat-treated and composted and utilised in our garden.
- Recycling and sorting = bio-, metal, glass, paper, plastic and mixed waste. This is applied all in our guest house.
- Heating = air source heat (ever since 2000), geothermal heat applied in heating the premises and water in the main house (since 2007).
- Water supply = municipal water supply and sewerage + composting outdoor toilet in the summer.
- Electricity = Nordic Green Energy used in all premises, almost all lighting fixtures are using LED bulbs (our latest renovation was the kitchen light fixture in 2018).
- What the little ones will do, the big ones will follow!

In addition to accommodation, you can make reservations for half or full board meals. Reservations are binding and must be made at least 1 day before arrival. The food is made from local Finnish ingredients grown nearby and/or using ecological methods.
Accommodation with half board:
- 85 €/night/1 person, single occupancy in a double room
- 60 €/night/person in a double room
Half board includes breakfast, lunch (main course, dessert, coffee/tea) or dinner (salad or soup, main course, dessert, coffee/tea).
Accommodation with full board:
- 100 €/ night/1 person, single occupancy in a double room
- 75 €/night/1 person in a double room
Full board includes breakfast, lunch (main course, dessert, coffee/tea) and dinner (salad or soup, main course, dessert, coffee/tea).
Breakfast is served in Handelsmans Café from 6am to 9:30am, lunch from 11am to 2pm and dinner from 5pm to 8pm. Evening snacks can also be prepared and placed in the fridge for guests who are arriving late in the evening.
